The EPA does not monitor this beach for bathing water, so there is no water-quality record. Check locally and follow the signs before you swim.

Located on the northwestern tip of the Inishowen Peninsula, Pollan Bay provides exceptional views to Malin Head, Glashedy Island and the Isle of Doagh.

Beautiful Pollan Bay can be found close to the village of Ballyliffin. The long stretch of sandy beach looks out onto Glashedy Island and is an ideal location for all types of water activities, particularly windsurfing. Pollan Bay is highly popular with visitors and locals alike and is suitable for all ages. Families will find an eco-friendly children’s play area beside the beach, as well as a beach walk that hugs the edge of the Ballyliffin Golf course and takes you to Carrickabraghey Castle in the Isle of Doagh. Pollan Bay also provides access to Binion Hill, a designated walk great for nature lovers and hill walkers.
