By using winsomeplanet.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What Winsome Planet provides
Winsome Planet is an independent website, made in Ireland, with three parts:
- An Ireland outdoors guide — trails, bathing waters, forests, heritage sites, nature spots and weather, built from Irish public open data. See Licensing & Data Sources.
- An AI trip planner that drafts an itinerary from what you type. It needs a free account and has a daily limit so that the service stays free for everyone.
- A journal of travel stories and photographs.
The site is free. There are no paid plans and we take no payments.
3. Your account
You need an account only to plan with AI and to save trips. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your account page — see GDPR Request.
4. Fair use
Please do not:
- try to get around the daily planner limits, the bot checks or the sign-in;
- use the planner or the contact form to send spam, or anything unlawful or abusive;
- scrape the site in a way that degrades it for others — our Web Scraping Policy explains what is welcome.
We may suspend an account or block traffic that breaks these rules.
5. AI-generated itineraries
Itineraries are written by an AI model from your request. They can be wrong: an opening time, a distance, a route or a place that has closed. Treat them as a starting draft and check anything that matters — bookings, transport, opening hours, safety — with the provider before you rely on it.
6. Accuracy and liability
We publish open data as its publishers release it, and in good faith, but conditions outdoors change faster than any dataset. A bathing-water classification reports what the EPA found when it sampled; it does not certify that a beach is safe to swim at today. Our Disclaimer says more. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the site.
7. Intellectual property
Our writing, photographs, design, code and the outdoor ratings we compute are © Winsome Planet. Open data remains under its publishers' licences, which are listed on Licensing & Data Sources. You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts (under 50 words) with a link back to the source.
8. Money and independence
We have no affiliate relationships, sell no advertising, and nobody pays to be included. If that ever changes, our Affiliate Disclosure will say so before it happens.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top says when they last changed.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country.
