1. Open data has limits
Trails, beaches, forests, heritage sites and nature spots come from Irish public bodies' open data (listed on Licensing & Data Sources). We publish it as released and refresh it regularly, but a dataset can lag behind what is on the ground: a trail diverted, a car park closed, a site under works. None of those bodies endorses Winsome Planet, and any error in how we present their data is ours.
2. Water and outdoor safety
A bathing-water classification reports what the Environmental Protection Agency found in its samples and when. It does not certify that a beach or lake is safe to swim at today: tides, currents, weather and short-term pollution are not captured by it. Always check local signage, lifeguard flags and any current EPA alert, and see Water Safety Ireland.
Weather and warnings come from Met Éireann and are shown as issued. Our outdoor rating for each day is our own reading of that forecast, not Met Éireann's. Conditions in the hills and on the coast can change quickly; plan for them.
3. AI-generated itineraries
The trip planner writes itineraries with an AI model. They can contain mistakes — wrong opening hours, distances or routes, or places that no longer exist. Check anything that matters with the provider before you book or travel.
4. External links
We link to other websites, including the public bodies whose data we use. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability.
