Who is behind it?
One person, living in Ireland, who designed, wrote and coded the site from scratch. It is run from Limerick, independently: no tourism body, brand or investor is behind it. About us →
Is this an official or government website?
No. We use open data that Irish public bodies publish — Sport Ireland, the EPA, Coillte, the National Monuments Service, the Heritage Council, Met Éireann, Logainm, Tailte Éireann and Fáilte Ireland — under their open licences. None of them endorses Winsome Planet, and any error in how we present their data is ours. Every source and licence →
How current is the information?
Place records are refreshed regularly from the publishers. Weather forecasts and warnings come from Met Éireann and are shown as issued. Conditions on the ground can still change faster than any dataset, so check locally before you set out.
If a beach is rated "Excellent", is it safe to swim there?
Not necessarily. The rating reports what the EPA found in its water samples and when. It says nothing about tides, currents, weather or a short-term pollution event. Check for a current EPA alert, local signage and lifeguard flags before you go in. Read the disclaimer →
Is it free?
Yes. There are no paid plans and we take no payments. The AI trip planner needs a free account and has a daily limit, which keeps it free for everyone.
How is Winsome Planet paid for?

How does the AI trip planner work?
You describe the trip you want — anywhere in the world — and an AI model drafts a day-by-day itinerary you can refine in conversation and save. It can make mistakes, such as wrong opening hours or a place that has closed, so treat it as a first draft and check what matters before you book. Plan with AI →
Do I need an account?
Not to browse — every guide, trail, beach and forecast is open to all. You need a free account only to plan with AI and to save trips.
What do you do with my data?
As little as we can. In Europe, analytics run only if you allow them. If you have an account you can download everything we hold or delete it all, yourself, at any time from your account page. Your data rights →
Can I reuse your photos, text or data?
