Cross Beach forms part of the Lough Cahasy, Lough Baun and Roonah Lough Special Area of Conservation (cSAC) proposed National Heritage Area (pNHA).
Cross Beach is a large sandy beach. There is a headland to the south of the beach and a river to the north of the beach. The upper section is stone and it is a gradually sloping beach.
