Flaggy Shore

The EPA does not monitor this beach for bathing water, so there is no water-quality record. Check locally and follow the signs before you swim.
Feast your eyes on the limestone pavements, historical fossils and views of Aughinish Island and the wider Atlantic from the peacefully secluded beach of Flaggy Shore.
Stretching from the village of New Quay to Finvarra Point, Flaggy Shore is one of the most northernly parts of County Clare. Discover forgotten fossils embedded in limestone, or admire the sculptured rocks known as 'Biokarst' that decorate shoreline. Take in the sights of Galway Bay and the mountains that complete the craggy landscape.
