The EPA does not monitor this beach for bathing water, so there is no water-quality record. Check locally and follow the signs before you swim.

One of the longest beaches in Ireland, Fermoyle Strand makes up part of the sweeping curve of Brandon Bay on the northern side of the Dingle Peninsula. It is the perfect base for watersports enthusiasts, or those simply looking to soak up the sound of the waves.

Fermoyle Strand is a stunning sandy beach at the foothills of Brandon Mountain, near the village of Cloghane, a short 17km drive from Dingle Town which takes you over the scenic Conor Pass.

This continuous 14km stretch of beach from Cloghane to the Maharees includes the beaches of Stradbally, Gowlane and Kilcummin and is thought to be the longest beach in Ireland.

Brandon Bay opens to the Atlantic Ocean and is especially popular for surfing, wind surfing and other watersports. It is a safe beach for families, swimming, walking dogs (on a lead) and shore fishing. A section of The Dingle Way walk passes through the beach.
